East Tennessee Mass Spectrometry Discussion Group
ETMSDG is a non-profit organization established in 1987 to provide a forum for local mass spectrometrists to meet together and discuss current research and related topics. In addition, we also strive to support young scientists entering the field of mass spectrometry. To encourage participation by students, we defray part (or sometimes all) of the cost of their meals at the meetings and offer a yearly competitive travel award ($400) to assist a graduate student or post-doc to attend the national ASMS meeting.

Group Update:
The ETMSDG has been on hiatus for a couple years, and is now active again. This webpage is being re-built as we go, and may have old information on it.

Who are the ETMSDG members?
ETMSDG is comprised of individual and corporate members. Our individual members represent a number of local institutions, including Oak Ridge National Laboratory and facilities managed by UT-Battelle and Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc., the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and the Eastman Chemical Company. Our corporate members include companies representing mass spectrometry instrumentation, general vacuum equipment, and chemical suppliers. We currently have over 30 members and numerous corporate sponsors.

Membership
Members typically renew their membership during the first meeting of the year -- Vendors' Night. New members are also encouraged to attend Vendors' Night to meet with leading mass spectrometrists in the area and to meet with sales representatives of the sponsors of the ETMSDG. You need to be a current member of ETMSDG to participate in Vendor's Night activities. Dues are only $5.00 per year (or $2.00 per year for students). If you can't make Vendor's Night, then contact the current Treasurer as noted in the link to the Officer's Listing, and he or she will be glad to accept your money. You will be an ETMSDG member for another year, and one step closer to a perfect world. What could be better?
